Youth lacrosse has had its ups and downs across East Hampton, NY, and surrounding towns east of Westhampton. Since the early 2000s, local programs have started and stopped, leaving a gap for young players. When COVID hit, opportunities to learn lacrosse and be part of a team vanished entirely. Recognizing this need, a husband-and-wife duo—both former lacrosse players at the University of Virginia—decided to create a local program for their children and the community.
In 2021, they began hosting clinics at Project MOST, and by 2024, the program had grown to over 100 boys and girls competing against other towns and club teams. With the dedication of volunteer parents, who coach and promote the program, and an annual golf outing to subsidize costs, the program continues to thrive.
Our mission is simple: to teach lacrosse as a fun and dynamic sport while prioritizing skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship, and leadership. Inspired by renowned coach Dom Starsia’s belief that “it’s about the relationships,” we emphasize building a sense of community among players and families. By incorporating multiple towns, we foster new friendships and a shared love for the game.
Our ultimate goal is to have boys’ and girls’ teams for every grade from Kindergarten through 6th grade, preparing players for middle school and high school lacrosse. For boys, we hope to re-establish a high school lacrosse program at East Hampton High School.
We also believe in accessibility. We provide financial assistance to families in need, particularly those with multiple children in the program, so every child can experience the joy of lacrosse. Above all, we encourage multi-sport participation to support the overall development of our players.
Whether you're new to the game or already passionate about lacrosse, our program offers a welcoming environment where kids can grow, compete, and have fun.
